Neha Kakkar had earlier informed Mirror (May 5) that along with her siblings Sonu and Tony Kakkar, she will be on the judges’ panel of a first-of-its-kind virtual singing reality show with Zee TV’s Ghar Ghar Singer. The singer had pointed out that it would give the audience something fresh to look forward to in the time of reruns and that the Kakkars are the first sibling-trio to judge a reality show. Now, we have learnt that the show has been shelved. A source close to the development points out that Ghar Ghar Singer was meant to be a lockdown special. “Now, restrictions are being lifted and the government has granted permission to resume shooting, which makes the concept irrelevant. There were also some technical issues that couldn’t be ironed out in time, so the channel has decided to pull the plug on it,” says the source. Ghar Ghar Singer was initially slated to premiere towards May-end and would have aired for 21 days straight. Contestants were required to submit video auditions, which the Kakkar siblings would screen from their homes.
